SCORE!!!!

Remember my Grandma Johnson's old trunk that we moved the other day?  We had been using it as a t.v. stand in the living room, and I had not dug around inside of it for a couple of years.

It was full of stuff.  Some of it was mine, some was fabric from my Grandma.

The trunk has been entered into How Sweet The Sound's  Pink Saturday linky party.
If you enjoy pink things, you might enjoy visiting there when you are
done at Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy.

Well, look what else was in there!!!

A quilt top that Grandma had started but never finished.  Wow.  I am so excited about this.  I don't have all the right colors to finish the quilt.  Still, it is the perfect size for a tablecloth for the round table in the living room.  It will also matches the colors in the dining room, so I can use it on that table also.  Yay!

Can't you just imagine it in a lovely tablescape?  When I am done with it, I will be sure to show you.

Thanks, Grandma, I miss you.
You would have had the best blog ever,
teaching us lots of stuff, like quilting.

I also found these cool pieces of fabric in the trunk:

I have entered this post into Smiling Sally's Blue Monday also.
Click above here to see some more cool blue things!

This retro fabric reminds me of what we used to frame in embroidery hoops and then hot glue lace onto:

I might just trim it for a tablecloth.

Anyway, I just wanted to show you what I found.  I'm a pretty happy camper right now.  Take care and God bless!

What sweet family memories! My great-grandmother also made quilts. I can even remember the quilting loom in my grandparents' garage! I wish we could have taken it, but no room then or now. But my kids are still enjoying some of those lovely quilts. Ours are more floral but all so delightful. Thank you for the sweet memories!
