Newberry Crater: Paulina Lake Lodge

Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy ~ Kathy Matthews
After leaving Paulina Falls, we drove to Paulina Lake Lodge.  Here is a great shot of Paulina Peak, with a bit of the end of the lake and the parking lot.  We bring them gravel from La Pine Redi Mix each year for their roads.  That makes me proud.

Here are some pictures of the store.  A Boy Scout group had hiked around the lake and were stopping at the store for supplies, and to reorganize their packs:

We visited with our friend Gary, who works and lives on site.  Then, we went into the restaurant to eat some lunch.

Oh, my handsome husband!

We ordered bacon cheeseburgers and visited with Maria, Kimberly and Becky.  It is so nice to see everybody when the season opens.  We put Cary's Mom's pontoon boat on the lake each year and take it out on fishing expeditions.  Cary and his family have been going to Paulina Lake each summer ever since the 1970's.

Cary is ready to load up and continue on our little day trip.
