Welcome to the online diary of a Central Oregon Grandmother (me) who is busy celebrating the positive portions of her everyday life ... along with her best friend husband (Cary). It is quite an eclectic diary and I try to do my best to incorporate a little bit of history into many of my posts. Your visit to our piece of American Pie is greatly appreciated. This chatty Kathy posts frequently, so coming back to visit often is highly encouraged.

Goodbye Summer!
We went on many short excursions and day trips; went for 10 days of camping nearby; and had some fun visits with family and friends.
We didn't get a garden in, but we did add the birdbaths and bird feeders. That has certainly increased the wildlife in our front yard. This week I bought wild bird sunflower seeds, and that sure did make a difference in the number and variety of the birds around here. We have lots of doves now, along with little brown birds and chickadees. I have added carrots and apples for the deer, squirrels and chipmunks. They seem to enjoy that.
School began for the Oregon kids today. I am glad that fall is here. Cary and I have some neat things planned to do, and I feel like getting back into crafting and art.
I hope that everybody else had a great summer. I wish you lots of love and happiness for the rest of the year.
Kathy

It will become visible as soon as I read it, and I do that several times daily. It just seems easier than using the word verification option. I am so sorry, but I am not accepting anonymous comments at this time. You can email me at: oregongiftsofcomfortandjoy@hotmail.com and I will happily add your comment to this post. Thank you so much! ~ Kathy M.
Summer is gasping its last, isn't it...I do love autumn, though!
ReplyDeleteYour wildlife is, no doubt, appreciative that you spent your time on their habitat rather than your garden. There may be some bunnies out there, though, who wish you had planted some lettuce and carrots!
Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! I'm sure that you are right. I was thinking that it would have been cheaper to get the garden all ready than it has been to feed all this wildlife though.
Bunnies would be neat. Maybe next year.
Wow, you surely had some fun out there. I am enjoying your posts so keep them coming :)
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth! Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it so much.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, we do have fun. Lots to do and it is very pretty where we live.
The best time for my kids is summer. Why? It is simply because they get to do a lot of trips from different places. Like you, this summer they had so much fun. I bet they have pretty much to share in their classroom.
