Raymond:

Becky Povich did a blog post on her dog Tiger the other day, and I could not help but noticing how much her Tiger looks like our Raymond.  Raymond died four years ago at the age of 16.  I still miss and think about him frequently.  Becky asked me to post a picture of him, and here are two of my favorites:

Grandma T. and Ray at Camp Christian

Here is a picture of our dog Raymond, when he was still in the prime of his life. One of the best dogs ever, being given a hug from his boy, Nigel.  This picture was taken at Salt Creek Falls on HWY 58, Willamette Pass, Oregon.  I sure do miss that dog.

  1. Awwww, you are so right, Kathy! Raymond looks so much like Tiger. Obviously some of the same mixed breed going on with both of them! We got Tiger-Gal at a shelter and the vet said she was part-Rottrieler and "something else"! I've always thought part shepherd because of her long nose and thicker fur and tail! I know how much you must miss him! Thank you for sharing!

  2. Hi Becky,

Thank you. Ray's mom was 3/4 Rottweiler, and 1/4 Lab. The dad who jumped over the fence was a Shepherd. He was mellow, alert, and very intelligent ... protective when he needed to be and very obedient. We were so lucky to have him, especially after the divorce when we moved to a rural area.

  3. Furry kids are such a joy! I know how you must miss him. We have always had dogs and cats in our home, and after 30 years we have lost a few. It is heartbreaking, but our lives are so much richer for sharing them with our four-legged companions.
