More Easy Gifts:

Here are some more of the things that I have been working on over the past week:

I made these pillow casings out of some place mats that I bought at Big Lots for $1.50 each.  I don't think that I will stuff them with fiberfill right now, because it is almost time for Christmas and they will just sit in storage until next year.  I think that I will use my box of fiberfill for making some more dolls.

I chose this cheery fabric for the back of the pillows from my fabric stockpile.

I had 11 doll pillows already made.  So, I need to make 11 doll blankets to complete these sets.  I used up my remaining quilt batting, and made four doll blankets yesterday.  I still have to finish them up by machine sewing around the edges, and then tie quilting them with embroidery thread.

There was one more of these doll blankets to finish, and worked on it yesterday.  I am going to machine quilt around the squares in a zig-zag stitch, just like the finished one on top is.

I made this blanket yesterday, and cut out three more.  These are so easy!  Just sew together the handkerchiefs, which you can usually buy for a buck at the dollar store.  I used new twin sheets for the backing.  I ran out of batting, or I probably would have gotten the the other three done too.  I will hand tie these blankets soon.  I am thinking about making them into play mats for babies, with toys tagged all the way around.

I finished filling the pink bags with a Ziplock bag full of pancake mix.  I am working hard on finding the frozen apple juice-syrup recipe that I want, but this is turning out to be difficult.  I might just need to experiment on my own to figure it out.  The flannel bags are full of cookie mixes.

I made these Christmas wall hangings a couple of weeks ago, and they still need the handwork done.  They are so cute!  They were not cheap though, because they are made with ME fabric.  I made six of them:

I will put together a tutorial on how I made these wall hangings, and on how I make bags and blankets soon.  My arm hurts, I have been on here for 2 1/2 hours already.  Time flies when you are having fun!

Have a wonderful Sunday,

~ Kathy

  2. Hi Lisa,

You are funny. You are writing a novel in 30 days and you still call me an overachiever? LOL.

That is a a good idea, when I am done, I will show them hanging up.

    Have a great day!
