Nigel Leaves for the Job Corp

My baby boy came for a visit on Saturday, and went home yesterday.  Nigel has joined the  Job Corp at Tounge Point which is an awesome program for young people, and will leave soon to get started on his continued education.

There are Job Corp Centers throughout the U.S.  It is a free program to qualified applicants ages 16-24.  If you can get in, it is equivalent to a $60,000 one year college education, with room and board and medical included.  We are so proud of Nigel, and know that he will do great there and will have a wonderful time.

Here is a picture of us the summer before last.  I put it on here because we both have our eyes most of the way open, so you can see what we really look like.

Yesterday, Nigel kept smiling so
big that his eyes squinted shut.
He isn't blind.

Standing in front of the bus station at the bowling alley in Bend, a nice bystander took our picture.  Before Nigel hopped on the bus, we ate lunch at a nearby Chinese restaurant.  It was a really good meal.  I don't remember the correct name, but it had something to do with Happiness, and is located in the new Boarders Corner shopping center near Costco.

We love you, son!  Congratulations on your new adventure.  We look forward to coming to visit you, hopefully within the next couple of months.

I sincerely appreciate your comments! If you don't see your comment posted immediately, don't worry. I have comment moderation on here to help filter out spam. It will become visible as soon as I read it, and I do that several times daily. It just seems easier than using the word verification option. I am so sorry, but I am not accepting anonymous comments at this time. You can email me at: oregongiftsofcomfortandjoy@hotmail.com and I will happily add your comment to this post.
