Let There Be Peace on Earth as We Celebrate the Positive:

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Kathy.  She was so loved, and was well taken care of.  She had a dog named Bobbles, a doll, and sturdy legs.  That was just the way that things were back then for many, and the way that she wishes they still were, for children everywhere.

Kathy was born a baby boomer in the glory days of America.  Even in the glory days there were many changes that still needed to be made such as civil rights, wife beating, child abuse, etc.  Nothing is ever perfect.  Good, better, best, never let it rest, until the good is better and the better's best.  Many things have changed for the better, but many more have changed for the worse.  Kathy knows that you didn't tune in here for that information because it is thrown in all of our faces all day long.  It is definitely no secret.

Now that Kathy is all grown up and has lived through a few plus decades, she is getting more and more disappointed in the way of the world.  She doesn't know what to do about it, exactly.  There is just way too much of a mess.  So, for today, she will pray for others.  She will do her best to celebrate the positive portions of everyday life.  She will hope for the best as she prepares for the worst.  Also, Kathy will be singing this song to herself today.  Maybe you can will join her!

LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH
(Jill Jackson / Mark Miller) - circa 1955

Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.

With God as our father,
Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take
Let this be my solemn vow.

To take each moment
And live each moment
With peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth,
And let it begin with me.

Go be a blessing and have a wonderful weekend!
~ Kathy

  1. Amen, Lisa!

Of course I posted this with the greatest of intentions, and then was mildly tested with adversity.

    I think I did okay overall :>)

  2. Aren't we all jaded a bit. Life should be as simple as it was when we were children! But, how to sing that song! Blessings to you!!

  3. Hi Jessa Irene,

Thanks for stopping by and being an encouragement.

All we can do is try to counter act the jadedness and negativity and try to spread love and light, I think. It is not always easy!

    Take care,

    Kathy
