Tidbits, This and That:

One:

My friend Lisa Ricard Claro, over at Writing in the Buff, is hosting a contest!  Check out her great blog, and sign up to enter at the same time.

Two:

Kristin and Grandma Jody in Guatemala
They serve with  Cascade Medical Team.

My daughter, Kristin, continues to hold fundraisers to raise money for her mission trip to Guatemala.  She is having a Pampered Chef Party, where 15% of all the proceeds go toward her upcoming trip.  In addition to that, her friend Trisha, the salesperson, is donating all of her commission to help Kristin's cause.  If any of you would like to participate you can do so online. Here is a link to a Pampered Chef Catalog.  Please remember that Trisha Jensen is the salesperson, Kristin Ward is the hostess, and to check the box to have your items shipped directly to you.  Thank you so much!

For all you local folks, Kristin's dad, Rick, will be holding a fundraiser for her on December 11th in Gilchrist at The Pine Room.  A nice dinner will be served, there will be a raffle, and some other fun activities.  I'll post more about this when I know more of the details.

Three:

If you have been wondering about how our grandson Tyler and his team The McPherson Bullpups have been doing, everything is going nothing short than FANTASTIC!  The Pups have only lost one game all season long.

Last weekend, Tyler Matthews was rated the #1 passing quarterback in the whole USA for high school juniors.  Tyler is rated at 150!  (I'm not sure how they figure out that score, or what it means, but he is at the top of the list.)  The best football colleges across the nation are actively recruiting our young man.  Of course, Grandpa Cary, me and the rest of the family living in the Pacific Northwest would love it if he somehow ended up playing for the Oregon Ducks.  It would be a very convenient two hour drive to go and watch that #1 team.

We are so proud of you, Tyler.  Keep up the excellent work!

Four:

Speaking of the Ducks, congratulations for being the best!

Five:

I am continuing to turn our travel photos into slide shows.  This morning I made the one of our visit to the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas this past January.   There is also a link to the post I wrote at the time underneath it.  For more slide shows, scroll down to the bottom of this page and/or go to this link: "Kathy Matthews' Slide Shows" .

  2. Hi SJ,

Thank you for stopping by to see me and leaving your kind comments.

My daughter Kristin, my Mom and my nephew Ethan go over yearly to help on a medical mission trip and to also install stoves and floors. It costs a lot of money to go, and Kristin is busy raising funds.

I am so proud of them all.

It will become visible as soon as I read it, and I do that several times daily. It just seems easier than using the word verification option. I am so sorry, but I am not accepting anonymous comments at this time. You can email me at: oregongiftsofcomfortandjoy@hotmail.com and I will happily add your comment to this post.
