Anthony's in Bend with Mitzi:

Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy ~ Kathy Matthews

In March of each year, our worker's compensation insurance lady and friend, Mitzi, treats us to lunch.  Mitzi takes us to Anthony's at the Old Mill in Bend.  We always look forward to visiting with her and catching up on each other's stories.  Though, there are two of us and one of her, so she ends up having to do a lot of listening.  Mitzi is an awesome lady.  Thanks for the lunch, Mitzi!

Anthony's is a pretty neat place.  It is right on the Deschutes River, and the building is full of windows.  The entryway is very nice too.  As you walk in the front door, there is a warm fire to greet you.  Yesterday was cold and windy, and Cary and I had gotten there early and walked around outside first.  We really did appreciate the fire.

The hostess sat us down in a corner booth as we waited for Mitzi to arrive.  I started taking pictures of what was right there in front of me.  Here is the lunch menu:

I ended up choosing the Baked Oysters and a dinner salad.  It was excellent.  Cary had the trout (he thought it must have been a baby fish though ... it was good, but kind of small).  Mitzi's salad looked delicious.  The service was excellent all the way around.

  1. I am inordinately fond of seafood. I've been salivating since I opened this post. You can be assured that, if I ever make it to Bend, Oregon, that I'll be paying a visit to Anthony's.

  2. The food was great, the company was better. I think you would really enjoy the Old Mill. I have more pictures to post later of other things we saw.
