I took these pictures early yesterday morning. I also have some pictures of my car's exhaust system, but I'll spare you those. I was doing the bear/maybe raccoon investigation here, though there really isn't much to show in the way of evidence:

I had already picked up the food container before I thought to grab my camera. This was what was spilled. Somebody will eat it.

The orange one is for water, but had nothing in it yet except for decorative rocks and pine needles. The green one had bird seed and peanuts in it.

Not exactly tracks or clear tracks, but I just wanted to make sure no stone was unturned.
I then turned my attention to more rewarding work, the pretty yard:

Cary had left the sprinkler on all night long, and it froze on the branches of the trees in dainty little icicles. We woke up to a very green lawn:

At around noon, our friends Steve and Merri came to visit us. They live in Portland, and were spending the weekend at Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond. They had driven down Century Drive/Cascade Lakes Highway all the way to Crescent and then came back up through La Pine to spend some time with us. Most of the campgrounds were still snowed in, so they didn't stop along the way and it really didn't take them very long; maybe a hour-and-a-half?

We had a great time catching up. After spending some time at our house, we drove into Sunriver and ate lunch at The Village Bar and Grill.

"Friendships are the flowers of life." Kathy Matthews, just now.
I am probably not the first one to think up that quote, though.

Merri said that Steve was the thorn between two roses. Steve said that he was the rose between two thorns. Now, those are some great quotes!
Steve and I have been friends since the late mid-80's, and I truly value his friendship. This is the second time that I have met Merri, but the first time was at our wedding, so I didn't really get to visit with her then. Merri is great, and the four of us had so much fun getting acquainted/reacquainted, and getting to know each other better. I am so happy to see them happy together. We made plans to get together sometime soon in Portland, and will include my BFF Nancy so, Hi Nancy, we'll tell you when! (She reads my blog everyday, heart three.)
So, you can see, my Saturday was a million times better than my Friday. I hope that you all have a wonderful Sunday!
Kathy M.
Love the 'friendship' photo of the three of you...the smiles tell it all!!!
ReplyDeleteIncredible icy photos. And snow? In mid May? Whoa. Of course when I talked with my sister [in Colorado] this past week, they too were getting a Spring snow. Glad I'm not in that state anymore. I'll take the 90 degrees any ol' day. LOL

Thanks for stopping by Saturday...hope your weekend has been terrific so far!!
Hi Anni! It was so much fun. It is nice to have a blast from the past sometimes, it gives my heart a big boost.
ReplyDeleteWell, we haven't had snow for a couple of weeks. It just gets cold at night around here. I really do like living in Central Oregon though. During the summer it gets hot during the day but cools off at night. We might get some thunder and lightening today.
I bet that you love living where you are at. Your ocean is so warm and pretty.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I'll visit you in a minute.
What gorgeous pictures, your yard is quite spectacular. We're hoping to get some landscaping project going here now that my brother has taken out the big bushes.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an absolutely wonderful day with your friends. You all look terrific in the photos and I love those quotes about thorns and roses. Made me smile. Something I sorely needed after the rotten Saturday I had.
Your yard is lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa, thank you for coming to visit. Sorry that you had a bad Saturday. My Friday was like that. I hope things are better today.
ReplyDeleteMama Zen, well, thank you very much!
I love to see friendships that stays for so long. Love those smiles and the quote from Steve made me laugh here. ^_^
ReplyDeleteYour pictures where the grasses are green and the trees are frozen are the coolest of all photos as I have ever seen.
About texturizing some of my photo. I use picnik.com since I can't afford photoshop ^_^
Happy Saturday!! And thanks for the visit ^_^
Oh how fun! Cute photos! Spring is coming! slowly, but surely!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see you! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking raccoon.
ReplyDeleteIce and flowers, what a combination. Loved in the picture how you ladies were dressed warmly and he was in shorts. Men are so warm natured.
Sounds like a fun time.
