Watery Wednesday:

In the west hills of Bend, there are some pretty fancy neighborhoods.  Some are gated, and some are not.  One is gated with a very beautiful park that sports a great swimming pool.  You needed a key to get inside.  The pool is gated too.

The houses are very, very nice, though many of the lots looked a bit small to me.  But that is just me.  This is a whole different type of experience than living in rural La Pine, wouldn't you agree?

Now, to get to the Watery Wednesday part!  While I was there, I also took pictures of the pool.  Not very many people were there that day.

There were nice bathrooms where you could change into your swimsuit.  There were picnic tables (I guess there is not a "no food allowed" rule at this pool).  They must trust you to use good judgment or something.

The pool itself was a generous size.

Some folks were racing.

I spotted a bit of synchronized swimming.

That pool and neighborhood came with a view of the mountains too.  What a nice place to be on an August day.  So, that is that!  I hope that you are having a wonderful end of the summer and are getting in your share of swimming.

  1. I love a pool like that--that you can swim real laps in. And I love the mountain view. BTW, noticed your McMenamin's note at the top--I worked for them for 6 1/2 years (all in the Portland area, but 3 pubs)--still love the company and am fact I wrote a mystery in June around a female microbrewery owner who has no small amount of McMenamin's worship.

  4. Seems like a great place to be a kid - having a pool you can share with your neighbors. Not nearly as crowded as our local pool.
