In June, on our way to Washington, I took these pictures out the window of the scenery from Terrebone to Madras, on HWY 97 in Central Oregon. I haven't been that way since, but recently wildfires burned for three plus weeks in this very area. I'm not sure if the land looks the same from the highway or not, but it was very pretty when we went through. Several times this week, this very highway was closed a few miles north, on the Warm Springs Indian Reservation due to a still raging wildfire.

Madras, Oregon. The city of thrift shops, for one thing. I've never seen so many in one place.

Wow! What more can I say? That is God's country for sure. I'd love to spend some time in that area and do some exploring. You are fortunate to be where you are.

Hi Kathy, these place is beautiful. I see rocks look like bones on the side of the mountain or hill is that why this place is called Terrebone? Looks like the mountain is the back of a dinosaur, pretty cool!
