Cary and Will both grew up in Southern California. Their schools used to play each other in sports. Cary was a Fillmore Flash and Will was a Buena Bulldog. Cary was glad that Will brought some warm clothes and boots for his stay as he works on the Alta Rock Geothermal Project.
It was pretty cold on Friday when Will stopped by to say that we could retrieve our trailer from Paulina Mountain the next day. So, on Friday, we drove 20 miles up the hill to do just that.

One pond was still unfrozen, though it might be frozen solid by now. The landing above is at around 6000' and our house is at 4200'. It has been snowing here all day, but we haven't got much accumulation yet. Maybe by morning I'll be able to show you some pretty snow pictures.

ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, Everything is fine here--no damage for anyone. It was a 5.6 on the Richter Scale which to a Californian is "nothing". There had just been 3 earthquakes in OK on Sat morning, so when things started shaking I knew what was happening. The epicenter of this one was in OK also but it was strong enough to be felt up here (because of the texture of the soil and it was only 3 miles deep). It was really kind of exciting--who would have thought that in the "land of tornadoes" we would be having an earthquake. The K-State -OK State game had just finished and so I had already had 4 hours of excitment (it was the "best" football game I have ever watched). Thanks for thinking about us down here in Kansas. Sounds like it is cold up there--I'm not ready for winter to hit quite yet. Have a great week. Hugs, Mickie :)
