Back from Texas!

Hi You Guys!

I missed you lots when I was away.  We got home yesterday morning from our trip to San Antonio, Texas where we were gathered with family to watch the Army All-American Game last Saturday.  If this is your first time to Oregon Gifts, our grandson, Tyler Matthews, was one of the quarterbacks playing on the West Team.

I'm going to keep this a short post, except to say that we had a wonderful time.  The weather got cold and rainy on Monday, our last day, but otherwise we were blessed with sunny weather with a light breeze.

I ended up taking around 1200 pictures, so I am still working through the developing and editing of them right now.  You'll probably guess what I be posting about for awhile!

Thank you to San Antonio for not draining the river while we were there!  (This is usually the week they clean everything up, but they decided to not to this year.)  We took a couple of boat tours and also used the river taxi to get around on our last night.  I was able to capture a lot of neat photos and learn more about the city.

I hope that you are all doing well, and I will catch up with you as soon as I can.  I plan on posting frequently for the time being so that I won't forget things, so please scroll down to older posts or check in as often as you can if you don't want to miss out.

Hugs,

Kathy M.

  1. Luckily the NBC regular station decided to carry the game also and I just stumbled on it. I was surprised and pleased.
You must have been so proud. Tyler has a heck of an arm and good feet. That was a great drive.
I like that the announcers called him a cerebral QB. Also he got a lot of close ups on the side line.
Will watch for him at Texas Christian. Be proud Grandma.

  2. Oh, thank you, Patti! I am so happy that you got to see it. Parts of Texas didn't, because another game was prioritized, and many interested in TCU were unable to get the game! They are a bit perturbed on the message boards, to say the least.

I am working on a slideshow of the event, and I think when I am done I'll put it on You Tube.

    We sure are proud!

  5. Oh, thank you, Jessa! I've noticed that when Cary is taking my picture they usually turn out better for some reason.

  9. Hi Nell! Thank you so much. We really did have fun. And wait until you see what my Mom sent me home with from Eugene ... I'll post it on Sepia Saturday.

Hi Becky, thanks for the smiling picture of you! I'm going to print it off. In fact, I think I'll do that with all of your pics and put them by the computer. I really did miss you guys.

Kathy, thank you for the compliment. Must have been the humidity and soft water, or maybe the fact that everybody had gone home that morning and we were having such a fun time hanging out by ourselves. Date day!

  11. Cherry, that would be so fun! Name the time. It is supposed to snow this weekend; I have loved this nice weather but it scares me a bit; hope it won't be promoting fire season this summer.
