"In the News" and Our Upcoming Trip:

Hi you guys, I just wanted to let you know that I am still alive and am doing well. I have been sidetracked from my blog because I began a new project in January.

For some reason, I decided to start my own news page on Facebook. At first it was just going to supplement the little out there about our town of La Pine, and the area known locally as "Newberry Country".  Here is the Facebook link to it:  "In the News" Things going on in La Pine and Surrounding Communities

One thing led to another, and I ended up expanding it to also include Greater Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. I spend around five hours daily working on the thing. I also set up a blog for it, but gave that up, except that it still has tons of great news links on it. Here is the link to that: "In the News" Things going on in La Pine and Surrounding Communities.

I am becoming very interested in all the people who go missing in Oregon and Washington, and am doing my part to share their information on my news page.

I am going to be taking a two week break from it though, because Cary and I are going on a trip!

Next Saturday, we will be flying into Tulsa, renting a car and spending several days visiting with my Arkansas relatives.  Then, we are going to tour around Mississippi and visit with our grandson Tyler.  We will also go to Biloxi and then to New Orleans, flying back home from there on day number fourteen.

We hope that the weather cooperates, but other than that things should be a lot of fun.

Any suggestions on what we should try to see?  If you want to meet up with us someplace, just let me know and we will see what we can work out.

I sure do hope that everybody is doing fine, and I will be catching up on your blogs to see what's up.

Hugs,

Kathy M.

  2. Glad to hear you've been busy with a project you love! And that you have a fun trip to look forward to. New Orleans is one of my favorite cities. Make sure you have beignets and coffee at Cafe du Monde! (I haven't been to the other places you mention, so have no suggestions there.)

  3. Thank you, Connie and Kathy!

I have been to Biloxi and New Orleans, so I have an idea about what to do there.

I just hope that the weather warms up.

    Hugs,

  5. Enjoy your trip, m'dear! And I LOVE your tagline: "We might never learn all the details, but that doesn't mean it never happened." lol That's awesome.

  6. It's obvious that you need to be doing things. Your new project sounds like something you would be good at.
We are going to New Orleans for a wedding June 1st, and are thinking about what to do and see in the week before the wedding. Exploring the Mississippi Delta of the gulf coast? Don't know yet.

  8. Oh how fun! We all need to relax once in a while and as my husband says, "Get clear away from it all." Enjoy every minute!
