Our Grandson Johnny is ready for the opening home game! His Mom, Shanna, surprised him with all the goodies when he arrived home from school.
Some of the best Mariners ever: Jay Buhner, Dan Wilson

Randy Johnson, Edgar "Pappy" Martinez, and Ken Griffy, Jr.

Johnson tosses 1st pitch for Mariners
The 6-foot-10 Johnson was at Safeco Field on Monday to throw out the first pitch in the Mariners' home opener against the Oakland Athletics. The 46-year-old lefty announced his retirement in January after 22 major league seasons and five Cy Young Awards.
Johnson became just the 18th pitcher to win 300 games and finished his career with 303 victories. About a third (130) of those victories came in Seattle between 1989-1998, when Johnson became the most feared left-handed pitcher in baseball and the nickname "The Big Unit" became his moniker. He remains the franchise leader in shutouts and strikeouts.

Sadly, the Mariners did not win their first home game this year against the Oakland A's.
