Welcome to the online diary of a Central Oregon Grandmother (me) who is busy celebrating the positive portions of her everyday life ... along with her best friend husband (Cary). It is quite an eclectic diary and I try to do my best to incorporate a little bit of history into many of my posts. Your visit to our piece of American Pie is greatly appreciated. This chatty Kathy posts frequently, so coming back to visit often is highly encouraged.

Photography: Bend Pumpkins
Two of my blends (blog friends) Becky and Lisa have been busy updating the look of their blogs. Lisa went with purple and falling leaves, and her blog looks so pretty! Becky has made her background into an autumn theme and it is warm and welcoming. They inspired me to re-work mine a bit. I hope that you enjoy the changes.
Becky's blog reminded me of these cute photos I took last fall in Bend. The little girl is choosing which pumpkin she wants to paint. Some of the finished painted pumpkins are below. Have you ever painted a pumpkin? It looks a bit easier than carving them, I think.

I sincerely appreciate your comments! If you don't see your comment posted immediately, don't worry. I have comment moderation on here to help filter out spam. It will become visible as soon as I read it, and I do that several times daily. It just seems easier than using the word verification option. I am so sorry, but I am not accepting anonymous comments at this time. You can email me at: oregongiftsofcomfortandjoy@hotmail.com and I will happily add your comment to this post. Thank you so much! ~ Kathy M.
Hi Kathy - Thanks for the mention. :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog always looks terrific.
We always carve our pumpkins, though painting them does look a bit easier. Not a bad idea, actually...they probably last longer, too!
Hi Lisa, you are welcome ... your blog looks so pretty! I have about given up on the pumpkin deal. We don't even get trick or treaters, they all go to downtown Mayberry to the stores and merchants.
ReplyDeleteI'm a hard core pumpkin slasher. Painting pumpkins is for slackers. I think digging out slippery pumpkin guts with a spoon is part of the whole Halloween experience. I am wrong?
ReplyDeleteLaraine...
ReplyDeleteWrong? Nope! I kind of like the feeling of the slimy pumpkin innards myself!
I am getting lazy and only decorate for Christmas these days though.
Love the photos of the pumpkins in Bend Kathy! I forgot to tell you my favorite antique store is right on the corner in downtown Bend. I can't remember the name of it...it's on a corner. Your blog background looks pretty.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy! Great pics, and thanks for the mention of me and your other cool Blend...Miss Lisa!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, your blog always looks beautiful!
