Mother's Day 2011:

Oh, I am very blessed, and I am very grateful.  This Mother's Day was actually a wonderful surprise.  I was expecting it to be a low-key day, nothing out of the ordinary as we went into the weekend.  Then, on Saturday evening my girls called and said that they were going to drive over from the valley and spend the day with Cary and me.  That meant 2 hours to get here and 2 hours to get back home.  They brought Casey (Kari's 10-year-old) with them, and we all had such a nice time!

Nigel is away at school, but he called to say hello and that he loved me.  Cheri sent me a very nice card from their sweet family, and Shanna texted me and wrote me notes on Facebook.  Also, via FB, many friends and relatives wrote nice wishes ... as did my friends in Blogland.  Wow!  You are all so nice and you helped to make my day.  I hope that you ladies also had a wonderful Mother's Day this year.

I set the table with the vintage blue throw.

I just went for simple on the table setting, but we did use the good china.  Kristin told Casey to be careful with it, because she and Kari never got to eat off of it when they were little, lol.

Kristin latched on to my coat the whole time she was here.  We had chicken in broccoli sauce, carrots and mashed potatoes.  I kept dinner simple too.

The dogs were thrilled with Casey being there yesterday.
Here is Sonny, soaking up all the love he could get.

  4. Happy Mother's Day, Kathy! Oh my, how nice of your girls to drive all that way to see you, and I love the wind chime present! Your flowers were so pretty too, from Cary. Your girls are just so pretty and lovely! You must be so proud. And next time I write you, you will have to tell me who Casey belongs to! You might have said it, but I forget. He is adorable too -- he looks like a really nice kid. :) And I love your new blonde hair! You look like the girls' sister, not their Mom. ;)
    Best,

  9. Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day. Happy belated M Day! My family took my mom out for breakfast and then I took my nephews to see Thor so that my sisters could have a break.

Have a great rest of the week. Forgive my late posting as I am having some issues this week. :)
