Sasha:


Yesterday, Sasha came to stay with us for a while.

Sasha is Grandma Darlene's little dog.  She is about 8-years-old, and is an easy little house guest.  Sasha had been staying with Heidi, our neighbor and friend, as Darlene has been feeling under the weather.

I took Sasha to the vet (Central Oregon Veterinary Clinic in Sunriver) yesterday to get her shots updated so that she could go to the nursing home/rehab center to visit her Mama.  

Though Sasha was happy to go for a ride in the car, she began to shake when she figured out that she was in a doctor's office.  We learned that she weighs a chunky 12 pounds.  Plus, the doctor found a piece of cheat grass in her ear, so we were happy to get that out.  The staff was very nice, and everything was over before she knew it.

Happy to finally see her Mama after so many days without, Sasha snuggled up on the bed during our visit.  Her eyes showed her worry, but she certainly didn't shake like she did at the vet's.

When we got home, she hopped up on the couch and crashed.  What a long day for a little girl:

The buds, if that is what they are called, get into the ears and work their way further down.  If your dog is scratching his or her ear, it could be a piece of cheatgrass that is in there.  It cost around $35.00 to get it taken out, but really didn't take long.

    Aw, what a sweetie! What is "cheat grass"? You have me envisioning all sorts of strange things in her ear!

    Oh, sweet post! And how wonderful of you to take the dog to the vet so she could visit her mistress. Both must have been relieved to be reunited.
