La Pine's 4th of July Parade, 2013

Here are some photos that I took of this year's parade:

The girl heading toward us is our great-niece Tess, with her dance friends.

Here are some of my friends from La Pine Head Start.  I used to work with Sue, on the far right.

And here is my friend D'Ann, driving the Head Start bus.

Here come our relatives ... an assortment of Matthews and Shields and friends.  Logen looks like he might fall off and get run over by the ambulance.

Our niece Beverly is in the passenger seat, and Max Shields is the driver.  Tess's brother Troy (named after Cary's father) is the first boy behind the cab.

In our nephew Jimmy's rig, Logen is waving beneath the flag, and Maykala, in the pink shirt is next to it.

Samantha holds baby James, who turns one tommorrow.

I don't know the rest of these people, but they caught my eye:

Hope that you all had a great weekend.  We never did get around to cleaning the garage.  We are heading up to the lake today with Larry and Karla for some fishing and a picnic.

You know that I will be back soon with even more pictures!

  2. The shot of the little girl at the curb (denim dress, sandals) is just incredible -- something poignant about that one that grabs at my heart! Nice post!

  5. Looks like you had a terrific old-fashioned 4th of July parade... with lots of sun. We had lots of rain here. But I gotta say... that poor pony in the pink tutu!

  8. You and your hubby are so busy! Always off doing something. We're pretty boring--celebrated the holiday with a movie. Our oldest daughter is in Florida visiting our son, and our youngest daughter is in Maryland with a friend, so it was a quiet holiday for us. (If you don't count all the neighborhood fireworks being set off! LOL)
