  1. It's funny... Ann Arbor and Eugene are almost the same size, but Eugene seems SO MUCH smaller. I think it's because Ann Arbor is round, the campus and downtown are literally right next to each other, and Ann Arbor is part of a huge metro area that extends all the way to Detroit.

  2. The colors are lovely--and I'd love to visit that bookstore!

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  3. I keep saying that the Oregon tourism board needs to put you on the payroll! Great pics, Kathy!

  4. Oh, what beautiful pictures! Those are the kind I like to use as computer wallpaper so that when my mind goes blank (which is embarrassingly often), I can just sit and stare!

  5. Love the second and the last picture the best! And I think Lisa is right!

  6. Great photos Kathy! and I really like the ones below of the country farm. You are quite the photographer . . . Hope that your Thanksgiving was nice and that you escape this awfully flu that is making it's way around the country . . . I'm down with it now, but the good thing is that I'll have it over and done with soon :)

  7. Wonderful pictures! (As always.) My favorite is that big blue house in the second picture. (But I'd hate to have to carry bags of groceries up all those steps.)

  8. That house with the turret is fantastic; I agree with Susan, though: lugging groceries up those steps would be daunting! You're such a GREAT photographer, Kathy...you've missed your calling!

  9. Hart - yeah, it sounds like they are laid out differently. Eugene spreads out, but there are large gaps between major cities on I-5.

Kathy - yes, that bookstore is an old favorite and has been there since I can remember.

Lisa - I would love that job! But I think the state is broke. I suppose I could visit their website though.

Tammy - thank you! That is a good idea. I just have the Windows 8 daisy right now.

    Lynn - thank you!

Connie - thank you! We did get sick. We woke up on Saturday morning with a bad sore throat and a head cold/flu and decided to come back home. I hope that you are better now! I am.

Susan, thank you! That was a doctor's house and is at the base of Skinner's Butte.

Deb - thank you so much. Maybe someday. I need to take lessons on lighting and get a fancy camera. It is a lot of fun, but I do a lot of cropping.

    Hugs, friends!

  10. For all my trips to and from Oregon, and for living there so many years ago, I have only been to Eugene once, more than 45 years ago. Every time I think of Eugene, Oregon I recall the way many of my Oregon relatives spoke of it, as if the "big city" were it's own country. Yup, goin' to Eugene to... yup , went to Eugene to ....

Trips to Eugene, Medford, or even the really big city, Portland were worth talking about. It is nice to see pictures of Eugene today, thank-you !
