Retro Flashback #1: "Jennifer Tomkins" by The Street People AND "Baby Island" by Carol Ryrie Brink

This was one of my favorite songs when I was in 6th grade.  Does anybody else remember it?

And this was one of my very favorite books.  I am pleased to find it available at Amazon.com and I think I'll buy myself a copy.  I haven't read it in forever.  Have you?

  1. Oh, wow! I used to love the book Baby Island, too! I just checked to see, and I actually still have my copy from when I was a little girl. I think I'll pull it off my bookshelf and read it. *grin*

  2. You are much younger than I am. Never heard of either. Glad you could find the book.

  3. JayLeigh, you lucky girl! I never had my own copy of that book, but I did check it out from the library several times. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Patti, I don't thinks so, really. The book was written in 1937 though. Not everybody has heard of it, I've found, it isn't like Little House on the Prairie or something that famous, it seems.

I sincerely appreciate your comments! If you don't see your comment posted immediately, don't worry. I have comment moderation on here to help filter out spam. It will become visible as soon as I read it, and I do that several times daily. It just seems easier than using the word verification option. I am so sorry, but I am not accepting anonymous comments at this time. You can email me at: oregongiftsofcomfortandjoy@hotmail.com and I will happily add your comment to this post.
