Delta Campground, Rainbow OR:

Delta Campground, right off the McKenzie Hwy near Cougar Reservoir and the community of Rainbow is very beautiful in it's lushness.  We were there on Saturday for a bit, after we said good-bye to Kari and Casey at Takoda's (I'll post about that breakfast very soon).

I Hope that you are all doing fine.  I have several more posts about our drive to the valley on Saturday, and about our grandsons spending last week with us.  I'll get them posted as soon as I can, and will be by to visit you when I can.

It was a wonderful and busy weekend, filled with lots of family love around here.  Just what we needed!

Kristin Runs the Cascade Lakes Relay and Breakfast at South Twin Lake Resort:

This is my girl, Kristin.  This weekend, she participated in the Cascade Lakes Relay, with a team of 11 other members.

The race began yesterday at Diamond Lake Junction, headed to Silver Lake, then went past Crane Prairie Reservoir and onto the Cascade Lakes Hwy.  Runners (and walkers) will be completing the 216.6 mile race when they end up in Bend sometime today.

Kristin ran three legs of the race (one in the middle of the night) and ended up with 13 miles under belt.  She and Scott have a wedding to attend in Redmond today, so I picked her up at Crane Prarie at 8:00 this morning.  We stopped at South Twin Resort for breakfast and had a great time catching up with each other.

South Twin is a wonderful spot, and the food was great.  So was our waitress.  I told her that I was so worried about last week's fire to being so close to them.  She said that she saw the smoke and her boss called in the fire.  They helicopters arrived within 30 minutes and were eventually successful in putting out the fire within only a few days.  Here is a link to a blog post that I did in 2013 on Twin Lakes and Crane Prairie Resorts.  Here is a news report to last weekends fire.

She is so pretty, and I am always very proud of her.

It was a good morning.  Cary and I are going to Bend to get Garrett from his cousins this afternoon, and then Kari and Casey are coming in the morning.  I have to clean two bedrooms sometime today, but they are both boys and don't care too much about messy rooms.  Thank goodness!

I hope that you are all having a great weekend.  I promise to make a return visit as soon as I can.  I miss you all.

Hugs,

Kathy M.

A Visit From a Screech Owl and More:

On Monday, Kody (father to one of our little preschool boys) came to visit with a screech owl from the Sunriver Nature Center.

The owl was cute, and not very big; weighing around 10 lbs.

We all learned about the different species of owls that live in Central Oregon.

 Any questions?

These two probably had a few.

We brought the trailer home from the lake on Sunday, and it was good to get back to normal and get the house clean.  Here are a few pictures from last week:

I really like the next two pictures; it is like a blurring of dimensions or something:

Julie and Bob came fishing with us on Thursday after work:

On Saturday evening, some of our family came up to see us:

Jimmy and James

Malaki, Dana and Noah

Samantha

Right now, my step-daughter Cheri and her family are here; and we got to spend time with my daughter Kristin yesterday afternoon.  Our grandson Garrett with be spending next week with us, and so will our other grandson, Casey.  Kari and Casey will come on Sunday and then she will go back home.

Garrett will be going to work with Cary, and Casey will be coming to work with me.

I love it when surrounded by family; it fills my heart.

Hope that you all have a wonderful weekend.  I'll be by to visit you guys as soon as I can.  I am so behind on blogging!

Hugs,

Kathy M.
