I asked the security guard if there were ghosts at the Alamo.  He firmly told me, "No Mam."  But, I'm not so sure...

Here we are, the group that trekked over to the Alamo after our rather poor service at the Lone Star.  (I'm sure that there will be a blog post about that coming up pretty soon.)  The other group members had gone over to the Alamodome to watch the Combine football game.

The slide show below is also of the 2010 visit.  This will not be working after March 12, 2012, because Slide.com will be deleted by Google.  Dang.

I took the suggestion of Little Nell and entered this post into Written Inc.'s Thematic Photography #178: After Dark.  Please click on the link to see some other great nighttime shots.

Your pictures made me feel like I was there with you. I would love to visit in person some day.

When we head out on our RV road trip in May, San Antonio is our first stop! I've never been, but my husband lived there briefly when he was in the service - this would be the 1960's so it's a LONG time ago. Anyway, he loved it, and I've always wanted to go. Can't wait! Your pictures make me want to go even more!

Grammy, thank you! I know that you would love it there ... we barely touched on what there was to see.

Melissa Ann, thanks so much for stopping by this morning! I know that you will enjoy it very much. You can look up the Chamber of Commerce and order a really good book for free on what there is to see and do there. Besides the Riverwalk area there is so much more. They have a zoo, a Sea World, botanical gardens, the Pearl Brewery, an open air market, The Witte Museum, etc.

You’ve surpassed yourself Kathy. Lovely pictures (especially the ‘ghost’). Why don’t you join us with Thematic Photographic over on Carmi’s site written inc.? The theme is ‘After Dark’ and this would fit perfectly.

Omigosh! That creepy face in the last Alamo pic blew me away. I couldn't stop staring at it!

Wow. This is an extremely thorough post. I feel like I've just made the tour myself. Thanks for the show. :)

Lisa R.C. - I knew you would be able to spot them. Pretty weird, huh?

Lisa S. - Thank you so much for stopping by! It helps to have gone twice in two years, I suppose.

Awesome shots. I've never been there, but you showed it well, feels like I have now. I really liked the second one with the moon right above it - beautiful. And the pitch black one where you can just see the lights is awesome too!
