A - Z Challenge: "M" is for Moon

During the month of April, I am participating in the Blogging From A-Z April 2012 Challenge, where we post everyday except for Sundays.  I have decided to make flashcards for the letter of the day out of my photos, and then use the picture as a writing prompt.  I am using my Thesaurus to make a story out of words beginning with the letter "M", and to have it make sense.  I have no idea of the twists and turns that it will take and usually crack myself up when I am all through.  Hope these little ditties make you laugh too.  The whole list of my A-Z posts are all listed on the top of the left-hand sidebar.

Thank you for your visit, and please come back again tomorrow! I'll be by to visit those who leave me comments, and also visit as many others as I can. If you like what you see, please feel free to become my newest follower. ~ Kathy M.

Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy ~ Kathy Matthews

"Martin, Marie and The Meathead Magician"
by Kathy Matthews

Many, many moons ago, Martin Moore was repairing merry-go-rounds in Molalla, Oregon.  Martin was a miracle at machinery. He was also madly in love with Marie Mortenson, a local magazine magnate and a maid on the side.

One Monday, Martin was working away, when a mysterious magician with a magpie on his shoulder made his way into town.  In some way majestic, the man managed to maneuver himself close to Marie.  Though the magician was marblehearted, he offered Marie marijuana, and then marched her to "The Mare's Nest Bar and Grill" where he ordered her margarine and mangoes.  The man gave Marie meaningful looks, told her how marvelous she was, and offered to marry her.

Marie matter-of-factly remarked that the magician was a meathead and that under the influence of Mary Jane or not, she was a meat-and-potatoes maiden and would always be Martin's.

The End!

Following the theme of the of the alphabet, I am also featuring this out-of-print book created by a couple of Oregon ladies in 1983.  Please come back tomorrow to see the next page in the series:

That's a darn cute story, Kathy. Well done! I'm impressed by all the words starting with M that you got in there.

A meat and potatoes maiden -- not sure what that means but it tickles me.
