Hello, Friends! Thank you so much for stopping by. I really hope that you will enjoy your visit. Please remember that all my words and photographs are copyrighted, and may not be used without permission.

During the week of July 5-9, 2011, Cary and I were privileged to attend "The Opening", watching quarterback grandson Tyler Matthews (#43 the first day, and #15 on game days) play with 150 of the best high school football players in the United States. The event was held at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. I hope that you enjoy the pictures ... some are better photos than others, but I tried to capture as many kids as I could.
There are approximately 500 photos in these slide shows. They are of the players, the fans, our family and everybody/everything that caught my eye. They are in chronological order. No names are on the pictures, even if I do know who people were.
As time permits, I will also be writing blog posts about my experience as a spectator. Since I still have a lot to learn about football and this is not a sports blog, I'll write some human interest stories as seen through my eyes. That said, Tyler Matthews, YOU ROCK!!!!

Lots of nice "blues" there! Looks like you and Cary enjoyed your trip to Newport. Nice pic of both of you. Have a great week. Mickie ;)
The water in the mural actually matches the colour of the water in your photos! Such a deep, penetrating blue.
Love that first blue photo of the mural; Newport looks like a really nice place to visit. Also love the borrowed artwork, is it a quilt or digital work?
have a great week, Kathy!
Thanks for sharing your blues. You two look so happy.
Happy Blue Monday, Kathy.
Glad you went back for the pretty blue sights as I have not seen them, or do not remember.
Nice! Thanks for showing!
That mural is gorgeous as are all your photos. You two look so cute in that picture. Love the smiles.
All your blues are marvleous and I too loved that mural.
You too definitely do not look blue.
Hi Kathy, you guys look so happy! Lovely blues.
So pretty. I am going to Newport R.I. to visit in a few weeks.
Lovely blues!
My Blue Monday is here.
I love boats and I love the water. These are exquisite photos and they make me wish I was there. In fact they kind of remind me of a place in Washington state called LaConner.
Beautiful photos (as usual) from you, Kathy. It seems everywhere that is named "Newport" is always so gorgeous. We have a "Newport" Rhode Island, here on the East Coast. I love it there, so pretty. I haven't been there for a few years... you've reminded me that I have to go back!
Best,
Gloria
