Book Blurb Friday #24 : "Layers and Shadows"

 "Layers and Shadows"
 by Kathy Matthews

Dr. Torri Vender is a child psychologist in Washington State.

Adopted from a Romanian orphanage at the age of 7, Torri has always desired to help children who have been traumatized in one form or another.  She loves her job, is happily married, and has a good life.

Things begin to change, however, when Torri and her husband Dan stop by Italy for some alone time before going to Romania to adopt a child of their own.  On their second day in Italy, Torri is slammed with horrific memories of her early years, and is hit hard by her first Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder episode.  She becomes paralyzed with fear about continuing on to Romania, and visiting her homeland.

Read this fascinating true story of how Torri comes to terms with her past, and heals as she helps to heal others.  (140)

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, you definitely have me pulled in with this. A woman with deep secrets that are going to be revealed to us through a mystery. Yes indeed. I'll read your book.

Your title goes so well with the photo and the premise of your story. I can see a lot of smaller stories interwoven into this one. It promises to be an engaging read.

Love the title and the description so fits a psychological thriller. I would want to know more.

Nicely done! You've given me a character to care about, and because her current story is so compelling I can't wait to delve into her past and how she ultimately copes. Great blurb!

A circular tale with mysterious diversions - intriguing.

Sounds like an amazing psychological drama where the doctor needs to heal herself. Love it.

Forgotten childhood trauma sneaking up to ruin a perfect moment, it would be hard to resist this story and the journey to the conclusion.
