God's Country #1: The Park at Holiday Farms R.V. Resort in Rainbow, Oregon

On Wednesday, July 4th, Cary and I opted out of watching the parade and going to the fire works in Mayberry.  Instead, we hooked up the new 5th wheel for our first camping trip in it and drove to God's Country (the upper McKenzie River Valley).  We stayed in the nicest R.V. park that I have ever seen so far, Holiday Farms R.V. Resort, in Rainbow, Oregon.   We stayed there last fall in our other trailer, and enjoyed the resort very much.  It is sad that the restaurant and lounge recently burned to the ground, but we did fine without it.

I took tons of pictures and most of them turned out, so I am dividing the walk that Dana and I took into two parts.  This is part one, of the lagoon and park grounds.  The second part is of sights to be seen along  "The Beaver Trail".

The weather was perfect; nice and warm in the 80's.  We enjoyed the area and then came home on Saturday.  We are now getting ready to find us a good spot up at Newberry Crater and park the trailer there for a week or so.  We are very happy with our purchase, and know that we will have a lot of fun in it for years to come.  We bought the 5th wheel in April, and here is the link about that, if you want to see the inside: 2013 Forest River Wildcat.

For now, though, here are the pictures of the first part of our walk:

Over the next couple of days, I will also feature pictures of an old growth hiking trail and of Belknap Springs Resort and Gardens.  Please keep checking back!

That is just the cutest dog! I'm sure she enjoyed the walk as much as you did. The photos are really beautiful. Glad you finally got to take the new trailer out on the road and that it was a success!
