During the month of April, I am participating in the Blogging From A-Z April 2012 Challenge, where we post everyday except for Sundays. I have decided to make flashcards for the letter of the day out of my photos, and then use the picture as a writing prompt. I am using my Thesaurus to find as many words as I can beginning with the letter "I" and making them into a story that still makes sense. I never know these little stories are going to turn out!
Thank you for your visit, and please come back again tomorrow. I'll be by to visit those who leave me comments, and also visit as many others as I can. If you like what you see, please feel free to become my newest follower. ~ Kathy M.

"Indian Ike"
by Kathy Matthews
Indian Ike lived inside The Totum Bar at Ike's Pizza in Independence, Oregon. Indian Ike was a local icon; increasing the income of Ike's by infinite amounts over the years.
I was at Ike's one night with Ira, watching Ichiro play, when some idiot with ill-bred manners idly began to carve his initials on Indian Ike's inside thigh. It made me ill, the image of impure impulsiveness that imp Izzy was instigating.
In an instant, Ira, Issiah and I tackled the in-bred imbiber. It may have been inadvisable, considering the knife, but at the time that detail seemed inconsequential. The cops were called, charges were incurred against Izzy and he was eventually incarcerated.
To this day, Indian Ike is indispensable to Ike's Pizza in Independence.
Following the theme of the of the alphabet, I am also
featuring this out-of-print book created by a couple of Oregon ladies in
1983. Please come back tomorrow to see the next page in the series:
