Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy is now on Facebook!

This is the birthday week for Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy.  Two years ago, I began this little blog, telling about my tiny little part in this big wide world.  In 7 more posts, I will have posted 1,000 posts. Yay for me!

So, I decided to go ahead and make a Facebook page for Oregon Gifts.  There are two reasons for this.  The first, and most important, is to create an online community for folks who enjoy this blog.  So many of us are on Facebook already, it makes it easier to talk and share with what is going on in our lives.  But since we don't all know each other personally, my new Oregon Gifts page is a destination point for anybody who is interested in enhancing social contact and creating deeper friendships.  Remember, everything will need to be kept positive on there.  No politics or anything negative, please.  You are very welcome to post links to your own blogs as you stop in to say hello.

The second reason is that I am kicking off my little "store" with gifts handcrafted by me.  We will just play that by ear right now, because I'm not sure what will happen with all of that yet.

So, when you are on Facebook, go to the search bar on the top of your page and type in "Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy".  The little girl above is the photo to look for.  If you want to participate, just write a note in the comment section.   Please make sure to click "Like" on the top of the page so that you will become a friend and know when something is up.

I appreciate all of you so much!  I hope that this new element will help all of us to get to know each other better.

Thank you,

Kathy

1945 WW2 Guam Pictures of The Navy Sea Bees Building Projects:

In honor of Veteran's Day and in honor of my father-in-law, the late Troy Matthews, I have scanned the following pictures to share from his time in Guam during WW2 in the Navy Sea Bees. These were taken in 1945.  If you enjoy this post, I know that you will enjoy this one too: "The Agana Bridge in Guam ... Then and Now"

These are copyrighted, so please do not use them without permission.  Thanks!
