Tablescape #6 ~ One for the Kids, with Vintage Toys:

Hello, Friends and Blends!

I know that some of you have seen some of these photos over the past couple of days between Emily, Casey and Tatum.  Today I pulled them all together into one post to enter into Susan and Marty's Linky Tablescape parties.  If this is your first time seeing any of these, you may also enjoy this short story about Emily that I wrote the other day.  The photos are in black and white in the story of  Emily Goes to Grandma's.

Not everything on here is completely new.  For instance, I have used the flowers in a couple of other photo shoots, just because I wanted to get my money's worth.

The End.

This week, I am linking up with the following site.  Please make sure to visit it and see what others are doing with their beautiful tablescapes.  Thank you, Marty, for hosting this fun activity:

I visited some other blogs too:

I entered this post in this cool linky party too:

Thanks, everybody!

Emily Goes to Grandma's:

Last night I worked on a children's tablescape with my vintage toys.  Some photos didn't turn out so good in color, so I have changed them into black and white.   I took some of those pictures and am using them to let Emily tell a story.  It is my feeble attempt at some creative writing, which happens to scare me to death.

Emily Goes to Grandma's

Hi, remember me?  I am Emily.  I have been going to a lot of fancy dinners lately.  Last night, I went to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner.  Grandma made a very special kids table just for us little ones.  It was fun to have our own table, in the kitchen.  Just in case we spill.

There were cheerful placemats, candles, tea pots and lots of old toys on this table.  I guess that we still need to be careful about spilling.  Grandma said ... leave those candles alone or I am going to blow them out.  So, we did.  We were good.

Grandma really likes that Mary Engelbreit stuff.  If we complain, Grandma says, "Well, make the best of it, sweetie.  Bloom where you're planted."  Easier said than done, Grandma!

Grandma also tells us to be nice and take care of each other.  She says this includes the animals, trees and water.  Grandpa says that is because she is an old hippie chick from Eugene.  She says no sir, she was never a hippie.  What is a hippie, anyway?

I love the View Master.  It is old.  Grandma said that after dinner I could use it, but not now.  It has to stay here for decoration for the pictures.

The saying on that box says, "Just living is not enough.  One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower."  Grandma says, amen to that!

After dinner, we are going to get to read about the little girl of Japan.  It is one of my very favorites.  If you click here, you can read the story about Ah Fu .  Grandma scanned it a while back.  She loves these old books.  They came from her old church that closed down.  So did a lot of these old toys.  Grandpa says that she is sentimental.  She says so is he.

So, that is about all.  It was fun.  I love my Grandma. And my Grandpa.  And Dana and Sonny.  Oh, she says to tell you that the rest of this tablescape will be on her blog on Wednesday.

Bye, bye.  The End.

Yesterday's News: It is all good!

Yesterday was Darlene's birthday.  She is my mother-in-law, my best friend husband's mom.  Darlene is the best mother-in-law ever, and she is also one of my closest friends.  Happy Birthday, Mom Darlene, sorry I didn't get this on here yesterday.  Love you lots!

I would like to thank Janel at  Janel's Jumble,  and  Diane at Tablescapes By Diane  for becoming followers of my blog yesterday!  Thank you, ladies!  Diane also signed my guest book.  I am listing the first name of those who sign, and their hometown underneath the guest book itself, so that we can see who has stopped by and where they are from.

Thank you to all of you who have stopped by to visit recently, and also to those of you who have left the super nice comments about my Retro Tablescape.  I appreciate all of you blends so much.  I ran into one of our customers at the post office yesterday and he told me how much he enjoys reading it this blog.  It means a lot to me when I get feedback on my work.

I have a couple of really cool ideas for new tablescapes and tea cup shots, and will get them done as soon as I can.  In three more days, this blog will be two years old!  This is post 988.  Yay!

Celebrate the positive portions of everyday life, and have a wonderful weekend you guys!

Introducing ..... Emily!

I have a new sweet little baby girl.  Her name is Emily.  She modeled for me today as I set up and photographed two tablescapes.  Emily enjoys sitting in her high chair at the table like a big girl.  Keep your eye out for her; she loves being in the spotlight!

Tablescape #1:  70's Retro

Tablescape #2:  Romantic Roses

I'll show you the complete tablescapes later.  Emily was just so cute that I couldn't wait to post her photos.

A long time ago, Cary's Mom, Darlene, owned a second hand store.  Emily came into the store and went home with Darlene immediately.  Later, Darlene gave Emily to Grandma Pearl.  Now she lives with us.  What a sweetie she is!

Hugs,

Kathy
