Severe weather both worries and fascinates me. Sometimes folks don't even realize that bad storms are heading their way. I forward weather posts on FB and drive my friends crazy, but I wanted to make sure that my friends in the U.K. are aware of this one. Here is the link to the story: http://www.theweatherspace.com/2013/12/22/strongest-jet-stream-ever-recorded-to-bring-two-super-storms-to-united-kingdom-region-this-week-with-possible-tornadoes-in-ireland/
Batten down the hatches, and stay safe!

Thank you, I am battening down the hatches! We are having quite a battering as I write this but probably here on the south east coast we have escaped the very worst. My son has made it here today for Christmas so I'm very thankful that his journey through France and under the Channel was without incident (though slow).
Very best wishes to you and yours for a wonderful Christmas and happy year in 2014.
So we are sending them the storm that hit our eastern states. Not a very nice Christmas gift. I wish them well and will keep up with the news to see what happens.
Two storms down and a third to come on Friday. I wish someone would give that jet stream a nudge northwards so it misses us.
Merry Christmas, Kathy.
We have fencing down and garage and car port roofs no longer where they should be! It's quieter this morning, still a breeze and still wet. I feel sorry for travellers as a lot of motorways and public transport is disrupted or cancelled.
Merry Christmas.
