Hello Friends,
Well, we are back home after our trip to Reno and Ashland. It was fun to get away and take pictures of new things. I ended up with around 700 new photos. Speaking of pictures, I didn't lose anything when our computer crashed, thank goodness.
We bought a new computer, and it has Windows 8, so I am trying to find my way around that. Our computer guru, Mason, has been a big help there. Basically, you don't have to worry about all of the touch screen tiles if you don't want to. If you do not have a new HP monitor, you have to use your mouse anyway, (if you are using a PC instead of a laptop), which is just fine for me. I am not a programmer or into computers, and I am able just use my desktop like I did on my old computer. Mason found Windows 8 more frustrating, because he says it takes away more choice on how to operate the computer and set it up the way that you like it. He said that it is more like a Mac than like Windows. Times are a changing!
I seemed to have lost my momentum for blogging due to the circumstances. Being gone, and not having a computer for a couple of weeks certainly put me behind. I had my phone, so was able to participate in FB okay, but it was hard to visit and read your blogs on that tiny screen. I could check out 5 or 6 blogs and then my battery would be dead! I look forward to catching up with everybody soon. I have really missed making my Sepia Saturday posts.
The weekend before last, I spent 16 hours organzing the rest of The Letsom Letters. Boy, was that tedious, but it was also very interesting. I found some amazing things in there ... photos, letters, newspapers and clippings. I can't wait to get back into pulling those stories together.
I have been reading a lot. Lots of good books. I will do a Recent Reads post pretty soon. Not spending four hours a day on blogging frees up your time, that is for sure. Also, I went and bought a bunch of bulk food last week and spent hours repackaging it into more manageable portions.
Well, I'd better get going. It is going to be a busy day, beginning with dropping off the car to get my snow tires on. I hope that you are all doing great, and I promise that I will see you soon. I'll leave you with a pretty picture of Mt. Shasta, and a wish for a Happy Thanksgiving.
Please make sure to scroll down to the post below this ... there are some really pretty pictures of Lithia Park in Ashland, Oregon.

Hi. It sounds like you have been busy, alright. Busy is good. Blogging will still be there when you get to it.
I love the photo.
You travel so much! You and your hubby just have too much fun. :) Glad you're back, but your new computer sounds kinda scary. Guess every new computer will mean a new learning curve. Amazing how fast the technology is expanding.
You've been quite the busy and productive girl, haven't you? Sometimes a little break is energizing--I'm taking one myself this week. I look forward to hearing about your adventures and what you've been reading.
