This year, I have chosen to do a study on poet and artist, Cicely Mary Barker. I am featuring her book "A Flower Fairy Alphabet". Not only will you learn about pretty flowers, but I will also be giving you a few fun facts about Ms. Barker each day.

Middle years:
In the late 1920s, Barker began to doubt she was doing enough for the church and considered focusing solely on sacred works. Family and friends recommended she continue secular and sacred works, and she did so.[8]
Barker continued to attend evening classes at the Croydon Art School between the 1920s and the 1940s, eventually receiving a teaching position. She took sketching trips to Amberley and Storrington in Sussex and to Cornwall and the southern coast with family and friends. She visited and stayed with artist Margaret Tarrant in Gomshall, Surrey and with family in Ugglebarnby, Cornwall.[9] Source: Wikipedia's Article on Cicely Mary Barker

Such a delicate and beautiful flower!
Love, love lily of the valley. And the picture of the thread box brought back wonderful memories of my grandmother who also had one.
I really have fallen in love with this book.
One of my favorite flower scents - they don't grow around here in Calif.

I love Lily of the valley--a delicate little beauty. And I had to follow the link to see how Twopence started with H! teehee
Lilly of the Valley, one of my favorites. Had them in my wedding bouquet. They smell heavenly.

I love flowers but don't excel at recalling which are which. Thanks for showing me!
