Getting back into the saddle again ....

Yesterday, I called my BFF Nancy to wish her a very Happy Birthday, even though I kind of thought that I had the wrong day.  I did.  It was an early birthday wish, come to find out.  She didn't mind though.  Nancy had a dream that I was going to call her yesterday, so, essentially, I was her dream come true.  Hi Nanc, I hope you had fun at your BBQ last night!

Nancy is one of the people I write to in my mind when I write a blog post.  So many years ago she loved my long emails telling of the funny people that I worked with, and said that she enjoyed my stories.  Even if nobody else thinks a blog post is good, Nancy does.  Thank you, girlfriend.

Anyway, we were catching up on things, and I told Nancy that I hadn't been working on my novel.  It had been about three weeks since I had touched it, and my vision for the story was losing its sharpness.  So, yesterday afternoon, I sat down and increased it from nearly 900 words to over 2700!  Yay for me!  It was easy.  The hardest part was writing in complete sentences and filling out the descriptions.

My daughter Kari called and I was telling her about it, and she said that it sounded like a mini-series that she would like to watch.  Because it is so involved, and so long.   It is a historical story that spans 100 years.  This story is in the writing fashion of Jane Kirkpatrick and Coleen McCullough.  The locations are real, but the characters are fiction.  In fact, the locations are so real that you can drive right to them.  I'm afraid that if this book ever really does get published that people will drive over and bug the folks living there now.  Is that bad?

Anyway, I just wanted to give you guys an update on my writing project.
It is so fun, and  I can't wait to get back to it!
