The "Re-Introduce Myself" Blogfest:

Welcome to Kathy Matthews' Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy blog.  I am participating in Stephen Kemp's "Re-Introduce Myself Blogfest" where we are encouraged to give a brief description of our blogs and ourselves.  I kind of feel like I am on Match.com.

I have been blogging since November 2008, and this is post number 1893.  Oregon Gifts is not my only blog, but it is the one where I put most of my energy.  The name is quite a mouthful, but I was planning on reviving my crafts business of the same name when I set this blog up.  It is a lot easier to post pictures than to make things though, and one thing led to another.

I have completed the April A-Z Challenge for the past two years.  I am just now beginning my first novel, and I am super excited about that.  I enjoy writing flash fiction, travel, taking pictures, reading, being creative, old stuff, and interacting with others.

As for sports, I love to watch baseball (The Mariners, and all AL teams) and college football (The Ducks, and TCU, where our grandson Tyler is a QB.)

"Welcome to the online diary of a Central Oregon Grandmother (me) who is busy celebrating the positive portions of her everyday life ... along with her best friend husband (Cary).  It is quite an eclectic diary, and I try to do my best to incorporate a little bit of early Oregon history into many of my posts.  I post the links of many of my stories and articles on the sidebar, so if you have extra time, please scroll down to see more.  At the bottom of this page, there are links to many other blogs that I enjoy reading.

Please leave me a comment, and follow me if you want to.  I will make sure to reciprocate.  Thanks so much for stopping by."

You've been productive! I was only a year behind you but I am barely past 1000. And I had a year in there I blogged every day!

I like how you've let your blog morph. Always best to be flexible.

Hi, Kathy. Nice to meetcha! Too bad I didn't meet you about a month ago, though. I wrote a post about Oregon, and then when a commenter mentioned the Oregon Vortex, wrote a post about that, too. (So TWO posts about a state I've never even visited!)

Count me in as your newest follower. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

Welcome to the world of writing! Very cool you've done the Challenge the past two years. Signing up again when the list opens tomorrow?
And you have a grandson in college? You could've told me he was your son and I would've believed you.

That's a great photo of you. You look just like someone I'd want to be friends with, if we weren't already. :)

Nice to meet you Kathy! This will be my second A-Z this April and I can't wait, but I really hope to be more prepared this year than last. Starting a new book is always exciting, good luck with it and hope to read more about your writing in the future. (:

Nice to meet you, Kathy! I've done A-Z the last 2 years too so I'm surprised our paths haven't crossed, but then there are a lot of us bloggers.
Just visited Oregon for the first time last October and it was everything I imagined and more. Just beautiful! :)
