Tablescape #4 ~ 70's Retro Table:

This Tablescape is more "retro", instead of fine china. Like a Sunday dinner at Grandma's house when I was little, but not when it was a holiday. These dishes look to me that they are from the 1970's. They were Grandma Pearl's dishes. I brought them home when we were packing up her house, washed them, and used them in this table design. Today I packed them up for whom ever gets them next. There is a bunch of stuff on this Tablescape that is mine, and the glasses and bowls were my Grandma Johnson's.

Remember, as much as this is a fun exercise in being creative and doing show-and-tell, it is just as much about me learning to take good photos. Many say, NEVER use a flash, but when I try to do that often my pictures turn out really dark. So, on some of these shots, I finally tried to use this lens attachment that came with my camera, and it helped. It does leave it's own shadow from the overhead light though, so watch out for that. As always, you can click on any of these photos to enlarge them for a better look.

Introducing ..... Emily!

I have a new sweet little baby girl. Her name is Emily. She modeled for me today as I set up and photographed two tablescapes. Emily enjoys sitting in her high chair at the table like a big girl. Keep your eye out for her; she loves being in the spotlight!

A long time ago, Cary's Mom, Darlene, owned a second hand store. Emily came into the store and went home with Darlene immediately. Later, Darlene gave Emily to Grandma Pearl. Now she lives with us. What a sweetie she is!

Grandma Pearl's Stuff #2:

Friday, I went back over to Grandma Pearl's to get some more stuff before the rest went into storage. There are some pretty neat pieces in this group of photos. Some are may be valuable; others are just pretty or appealing. I am wondering about the oil lamp, if anybody knows anything? Soon I will do a table scape with lots of this old stuff, and then haul everything over to Cary's Mom's.
