Remember, as much as this is a fun exercise in being creative and doing show-and-tell, it is just as much about me learning to take good photos. Many say, NEVER use a flash, but when I try to do that often my pictures turn out really dark. So, on some of these shots, I finally tried to use this lens attachment that came with my camera, and it helped. It does leave it's own shadow from the overhead light though, so watch out for that. As always, you can click on any of these photos to enlarge them for a better look.

Beautiful table!
Hi Pat, thank you very much!
Kathy
Retro table...what a great idea! It takes me back..and that's a little scary! :-) The doll is a wonderful accent touch! I know you enjoyed putting this one together!
Such a fun and festive Retro table. Those striped dishes are so happy as are the strawberry glasses. Thanks for sharing with us.
Happy Tablescape Thursday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Beautiful table setting. Thank you for sharing.
Do you people have a facebook fan page? I looked for one on twitter but could not discover one, I would really like to become a fan!
Hi Alycia, Sheila and Karie,
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Retro doesn't seem that long ago, does it? I did have fun with this one, and Emily made her first appearance. I even did a post on her, if you scroll down a tiny bit.
Take care,
Kathy
Great reto tablescape! Reminds of of eating at my grams when I was a kid. :)
I'm always available for dinner. What a lovely table.
HI lovely lady. I love your Tablescapes you are a sweet lady. I feel like dancing with your lovely music !!! Diane ~~~
Love your retro table -- a fun reminder of Sunday dinners at the grandparent's home!
Very pretty! It is fun learning a new camara but can be frustrating getting the lighting right! Let me know about guesting. I think I am up to that rofl, cherry
Great retro tablescape! It's so nice you used your grandma's dishes. And I liked little Emily sitting there looking around! LOL!
Best regards,
Gloria
Hi Fuzzy Slippers, I am glad that you enjoyed it! I'm going to visit you in a few minutes. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Laraine, oh, you are welcome to come and have dinner anytime. I have the feeling that you will be the life of the dinner party!
Hi Diane, well, thank you very much! Lovely lady? What a charmer you are. I love your blog and your tablescapes. Thank you so much for becoming a follower and for signing my guest book.
Hi Martha, thank you! We used to eat at my Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's all the time on Sundays, and it really brought back memories for me too.
Hi Cherry, COOL!!! I just sent you an email. Thanks so much. I have had my camera for 2 years, but am now trying to get serious about it. It is the inside pics that are hard for me because of the lighting.
Hi Gloria, thank you so much for your kind comments. I think that Emily is so cute. I plan on slipping her into my tablescapes from now on. I'm going to go and visit your blog too in a few minutes.
Take care, everybody.
Kathy
What a great retro table...love the colors.
Hi Mimi, thank you very much!
Kathy
Good job, Kathy! It all looks so pretty! I love the vintage doll, too. Looks like a doll's tea party! :)
Hi Becky! Thank you! I love Emily. She's a keeper.
Have a great weekend,
Kathy
This tablescape was indeed a wonderful trip back in time. Delightful! So far, I'm usually more satisfied with my photos when I use my flash. I also edit like mad with my computer software. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
Hi Cherry Kay,
Thank you so much for visiting, I am happy that you enjoyed the Grandma dishes.
I still do use the flash, but have been experimenting on not using it too. I find that if I put the setting on aperture or twilight I have better results without it. I do edit in Picassa. It is a thrill to get a picture that doesn't need editing, but that doesn't happen very often ... at the least some cropping is needed.
I just visited your blog ... it is beautiful.
Kathy
