Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy Contest #1:

Okay, everybody, here it is, the very first contest on this blog in honor of the site meter recently hitting 10,000!  It is very easy to participate, so please do.

All you have to do is leave the funniest quote you have heard recently ... but it has to have been said by somebody that you actually know.  You don't have to name them if you don't want to.  This is the funniest one I have heard in a long time:  "Patty melts make me horny.  So, I only ate half of one." - Anonymous   WHAT????

Please leave the quote you like under "comments" at the bottom of this post, and sign your name.  The contest will close next Saturday, March 13th.  I will keep this post on the top of all the other posts that I write this week so that everybody will have a chance to see it.  Therefore please scroll down daily to get to the newer posts.

There are three prizes being given away, and I made them all, just for such an occasion.  Good luck, and thanks for playing, I cannot wait to read the funny things that your folks say!

Prize #1 - Set up two matching tapestry pillows.
Congratulations to Becky P. for winning these !

Prize #2 - Cute set of Country
Alphabet Bean Bags in a Basket.
Congratulations to Gwen B. for winning these!
Prize #3 - Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar
and 5 small drawstring bags.
Congratulaions to Lisa C. for winning these!

Just leave your quote below!

A friend of mine, during the first face-to-face meeting with a girl he'd been talking to on the phone for a while: "You aren't talking very much...you are usually talking, not thinking" And yes, this did happen. I was there...poor guy will never let me be present for a first date again.

Hi Kathy! Love this contest and your items are beautiful! Here's my funny quote. My friend Rita said this to me a few years ago when we were complaining to each other: "Husbands! Sometimes you can't hardly look at them without snarling!" She also has a big of a southern accent, and it was so funny, I immediately had to jot it down!

Hi Kathy - Last summer we were transporting several teenagers up to the lake for a day on our boat, and two of the boys (Adam and Jamel) were teasing each other, comparing one another to different animals. Jamel told Adam he was a squirrel, because his brain was so small. To which Adam replied, "No way. I'm not a squirrel. I'm an ape, because they are almost as smart as humans." Everyone cracked up and it took Adam a beat or two to realize that he had just dissed himself. LOL
