Country Wedding Tablescape:

This past summer, my cousin Jen married her true love, Nash.  I did one post about the wedding then (please "CLICK HERE and scroll down" to see it).  That post mainly featured the guests.  This post concentrates on the decorations and table settings.  I hope that you will enjoy this sunny summer scene as winter is now upon us.  Maybe it will inspire you for future summer happenings?

Each table had a floral centerpiece, buttons, candles and jam.  I loved the canning jars.  It was simple and pretty; but there was so much attention to detail.

Each guest had a place setting.  The apple served as the spot where our names were placed.  The canning jar glasses and the homemade jam were party favors sent home with us.  So thoughtful!

Here was where the bottled water and pop was placed, with some snacks.  There was a separate bar located on the side of the garage.

This was the or-devours serving table, set up at the end of the old truck.

The cake was beautiful, with a big button "S" on top.  Buttons were all over the place; Jen has spent a long time collecting them.

This was so sweet, and thoughtful too.  The pictures were of Jen's Grandpa Lee, who had passed away several years ago, and family from Nash's side.

Can you see the button garland hanging from the trees?

These little fans on the back of each chair were also souvenirs made from wallpaper samples.  The other side has the name of the bride and groom and the date.  Too cute!

There were many things that I didn't get pictures of for some silly reason, but they are worth mentioning.  The gift table greeted us as we walked in, and there was a 4' wire white birdcage for the cards.  On another table closeby, there was a large mailbox with hundreds of pretty postcards and lots of pens beside the guest book.  After signing the guest book, we were encouraged to write a special message to the newlyweds and drop it into the mailbox.   Everytime I turned around, there was another special detail that was there to bless the bride and groom and/or the guests.  Never have I felt so welcome at an event as I did at this wedding.  Thanks, you guys, you did a wonderful job.

This is a Tablescape Thursday post.  To see many more beautiful tablescapes,  please pay Susan at Between Naps on the Porch a visit when Thursday gets here by "CLICKING HERE".

There are so many creative elements here! I am sure the guests were so excited to see all the fun and spirited details! I really like the button garland hanging from the tree. That's super cool!!! That truck in the background is the BEST!!! I couldn't tell if that was an actual part of the water station or what, but it just looked cool sitting there. Also love the directional signage!!! Have a happy weekend, and thank you for sharing!

The 2012 Army All-American Day Event

Photo Source: Nike "The Opening Brochure" Pages 2 and 3
During the week of July 5-9, 2011, Cary and I were privileged to attend "The Opening", watching quarterback grandson Tyler Matthews (#43 the first day, and #15 on game days) play with 150 of the best high school football players in the United States. The event was held at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. I hope that you enjoy the pictures ... some are better photos than others, but I tried to capture as many kids as I could.

There are approximately 500 photos in these slide shows. They are of the players, the fans, our family and everybody/everything that caught my eye. They are in chronological order. No names are on the pictures, even if I do know who people were.

As time permits, I will also be writing blog posts about my experience as a spectator. Since I still have a lot to learn about football and this is not a sports blog, I'll write some human interest stories as seen through my eyes. That said, Tyler Matthews, YOU ROCK!!!!
