Cary and I left for Eugene on Wednesday. We kind of snuck into town a day early for some time to ourselves. Our first stop was to take a look at McCredie Hot Springs on the way. We took some pictures and enjoyed the beauty, but we didn't get in them. Here is a link to the post that I made yesterday about this pretty place: "The Hotel McCredie Hot Springs"

Driving into Downtown Eugene, we saw the Occupy Wall Street folks camped out under the bridge. I'm sorry, but I still don't understand this whole thing:

We checked into the Eugene Hilton, which is located smack in the middle of downtown. It was very nice and for some reason, VERY CHEAP, at only $87.00 a night. The room was standard, and very comfortable. We enjoyed the balcony with it's view and fresh air. We were on the 4th floor, which gave us a nice view without being up too high:

We walked across the street and ate at The Sixth Street Grill. Cary had fish and chips, and I had the BEST hamburger that I have ever eaten. Toppings included grilled onion, two kinds of cheese, bacon, fresh avacado, lettuce and tomato. Yumm!

The next morning I took photos of the sunrise, and then I walked around the hotel lobby and took lots of pictures of the Christmas decorations:

There was a cool artwork display featuring paintings by Anne Teigen. Here is one of them; I may do a blog post on her sometime:

We packed up, and were out of there by 8:30 Thursday morning. We drove to Springfield, picked up my son Nigel and his girlfriend Alicia and took them to breakfast at Shari's. I can't believe that I didn't take any pictures of them; sorry you guys. We had a nice visit, took Alicia back home because she had to work, and then drove over to the church. Here is an earlier photo of this lovely couple:
Thanksgiving Dinner:
For years, we have been gathering for Thanksgiving dinner at the Fellowship Hall at my Mom's church. This year there were between 45 and 50 of us and it was a smaller group than usual.

My Mom likes the cards that I made for her.
My friend Patty and her family surprised us by stopping by to say hello. That was so neat! Patty and her family used to live across the street when the girls were babies, and we have reconnected on Facebook:

I took many more pictures of our gathering and posted them on Facebook. The settings on my camera were messed up, and my inside shots didn't turn out as well as I wanted them too. Dang! We had a wonderful time; we all appreciate and look forward to our Thanksgiving dinner.
Cary and I drove home that afternoon. The road over the pass didn't have very much snow, but it was very icy. Our trip was great, but we were happy to get home.
I hope that you guys all had a wonderful time on this long weekend too!
