Dana's New Do:

Yesterday, Dana took a much needed trip to the groomer.  Here is her before picture:

And here are her "after" pictures:

What in the heck kind of dog is Dana?  She is an Old English Sheepdog/Brussels Terrier mix.  She is four-years-old, and we got her as a puppy.  Dana came down with parvo only days after we brought her home from the pound, but since we caught it in time she has been fine ever since.  Except for her hips.  She just looks kind of funny, lol.  She is also a super smart and good girl.  We love her lots!

She is fluffy and white as a new fallen snow. Great job by the groomer.

Kathy--I was going to ask if you ever did get the dog you wanted (after reading your comment on Lisa Ricard Claro's blog) but obviously you have. What a cute dog. I hope the holiday is a great one for the two-legged members and the four-legged family members.

The 2012 Army All-American Day Event

Photo Source: Nike "The Opening Brochure" Pages 2 and 3
During the week of July 5-9, 2011, Cary and I were privileged to attend "The Opening", watching quarterback grandson Tyler Matthews (#43 the first day, and #15 on game days) play with 150 of the best high school football players in the United States. The event was held at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. I hope that you enjoy the pictures ... some are better photos than others, but I tried to capture as many kids as I could.

There are approximately 500 photos in these slide shows. They are of the players, the fans, our family and everybody/everything that caught my eye. They are in chronological order. No names are on the pictures, even if I do know who people were.

As time permits, I will also be writing blog posts about my experience as a spectator. Since I still have a lot to learn about football and this is not a sports blog, I'll write some human interest stories as seen through my eyes. That said, Tyler Matthews, YOU ROCK!!!!
