Shabby Apple Give-a-Way!

Congratulations to my Johnson cousin Carolyn H. in Oklahoma for winning the drawing!

Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy ~ Kathy Matthews

I numbered everybody by the order in which they left their comments and then plugged them into the random number generator, which is just like the computer drawing a number out of the hat.  #5 came up first, Carolyn's number.  Sorry that I forgot the "l" on your name, April, I did this when I first woke up.  Thanks for participating, everybody.

Remember, all of you can save 10% off of any Shabby Apple purchase for three more weeks by using the code below.

The Oregon Gifts hit counter just rolled past 90,000 and I think that makes this a great time for a give-a-way!  Entering is super easy, just leave a comment on this post saying that you want to, and follow me if you are not already doing so.  Your opportunity to enter will close on Sunday, December 18, 2011.

Chelsea over at Shabby Apple contacted me last week, and suggested that I offer one of their lovely necklaces as the prize.  I chose this beautiful cameo called  "Lost in Wonderland".  It is part of Shabby Apple's vintage jewelry collection and is valued at $52.00:

Have you discovered Shabby Apple yet?  If not, Shabby Apple is an online boutique that offers an amazing selection of  Women's ClothingGirl's DressesJewelry and Accessories, plus lovely Arts and Crafts for your home.  Please browse their site and if you choose to purchase something, here is the code for a 10% off coupon that is valid for 30 days from today: "oregongifts10off"

This give-a-way offer is for U.S. residents only, sorry about that.  I think it has to do with shipping charges.  If you are on Facebook, please check out Shabby Apple's page there and give them a "Like". They also have a blog, An Apple A Day.  Thanks, and best of luck!

Are you looking for info about Tyler Matthews?

Check this stuff out below:

The 2012 Army All-American Day Event

Photo Source: Nike "The Opening Brochure" Pages 2 and 3
During the week of July 5-9, 2011, Cary and I were privileged to attend "The Opening", watching quarterback grandson Tyler Matthews (#43 the first day, and #15 on game days) play with 150 of the best high school football players in the United States. The event was held at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. I hope that you enjoy the pictures ... some are better photos than others, but I tried to capture as many kids as I could.

There are approximately 500 photos in these slide shows. They are of the players, the fans, our family and everybody/everything that caught my eye. They are in chronological order. No names are on the pictures, even if I do know who people were.

As time permits, I will also be writing blog posts about my experience as a spectator. Since I still have a lot to learn about football and this is not a sports blog, I'll write some human interest stories as seen through my eyes. That said, Tyler Matthews, YOU ROCK!!!!
