Good Monday Morning, My Friends!
This little post is going to be a bit eclectic, but duh, that isn't unusual for around this joint, is it?
First, I was given 3 days notice from Google that my renewal for extra picture rent space on my blog would need to be paid by today. I need to give them my cell phone number and use it as a pocket bank or something, giving them my credit card number so that they can take out between $5.99 and $19.00 per month. I used to pay them $20.00 per year, for going over the free memory allotment, so costs have risen. It must have something to do with the rise in fuel prices. I'll have to get this figured out this morning.
I don't want to give them my cell phone number! I don't want telemarketers calling me on my cell phone. So far, I've avoided that by giving them Cary's cell phone to get my secret text code in order to keep access to my account. I don't know if it was Google or something else, but his spam calls increased after that. (Good thing that he doesn't read my blog very often, or he would be saying, what did she do to me now?)
Google gave me a trial run yesterday, showing me for a few minutes what my blog would look like with missing pictures. It actually looked like my blog posts appear that no longer have the slideshows that I so carefully made and inserted into them. A little white box appears where photos and slideshows used to be. NICE. For those of you who are long time readers, you know that I am not thrilled that Google bought up Slide.com and then closed down Slide.com, where I had 82 slideshows of trips and events made up and inserted into blog posts. Heck, I had a separate blog for my slideshows. Oh, well, except for Tyler's football events; I worked really hard on those babies.
I will probably get hate comments for this one, but during the next few days, I am going to have to do something that I really feel badly about. That stray cat, Peggy, who we have been feeding since last fall? She's going to have to go. She is being very, very weird and is getting really mean. She never has had the best of manners, but Peggy has been hissing at all of us lately. It is scary. Then, on Saturday, we had company and my friend's little boy reached down to pet her and she flipped out and attacked him. Bit and clawed his hand up. I felt so badly for him. I think that his feelings were hurt as much as his hand was.
This morning, I woke up to find that she pooped in front of the porch, where I feed her. She's mad at ME??? I don't need the hassle. I was just being nice to her in the first place, and now she is turning on us. Perhaps the Humane Society can figure out what to do with Miss Peggy, but I can't have a bad cat around here.
My friend Lynn, from over at "Present Letters", has a very talented family. That group from Missouri is always up to something cool. Lynn's daughter, Rita, from over at "egabrag crafts", is a crafter who now makes movies to boot. Rita's short film came in with an honorable mention in the local film festival called City Garden. Way to go, Rita!
Crazy Cozy Blogfest is Almost Here!
This is your chance to write a 250 word cozy mystery and join in on the fun. To tell you the truth, I am a bit worried about joining in on this one. I know that many of the participants will be published authors, and I have only written book blurbs and my silly A-Z stories. We'll see. I feel as if I am out of practice since Lisa has been taking a blog break (I miss you!), and we aren't doing Book Blurb Friday right now. Still, if I chicken out on actual writing, I will be reading the entries and do some blog hopping to see what others have written.
Well, I guess that I will wrap this up for now. Thanks so much for stopping by to visit, and I hope that you have a wonderful, wonderful week. Now I need to go and pay my Google bill.
Hugs to you,
Kathy M.
P.S. ~ I am happy that I waited ... I just went and checked my email, and Google automatically renewed my plan for $20.00. Yay, safe for another year!

Could the cat have kittens near by? She has become a danger and I hope that little boy's parents keep a good eye on that scratch. Cat scratch fever can be really troublesome.
Hi Patti, no I'm certain that she doesn't have any kittens. I've been feeding her 2x a day for months and her body hasn't changed. One of the guys at work said he thinks she is turning feral. She was left behind at the trailer park next door when the couple split up. Oh, we washed Christopher's hand very well in Palmolive and then slathered on the Neosporin and band-aids. I was worried about that too.
Trials and tribulations! Let’s hope Peggy can be sorted out soon.
Man, I HATE feeling manipulated and that is what Blogger seems to be doing to you with your slides and pics. Totally get why you'd be mad.
And while I feel bad for Miss Peggy--yes, it doesn't do for her to turn dangerous.
Thank you so much for the blogfest shoutout! Sorry it took me so long to get here!
I only pay $5 a year for picture storage with Google. i don't get what they are doing to you.
And as far as I am concerned, there is no shame in having a cat removed, permanently if necessary. It's not like it is a beloved pet, and we do not have cat shortage.
I would still watch that cat scratch, they are nasty ! I hope you get the cat sorted out, she does seem unpredictable and leaving feces on your porch is an indication something is wrong. Cats being territorial might cause urine spray, but feces?
On a better note, glad your picture storage worked out for you, I suffered the loss of many picture in my blogs before I realized my blog pictures are now held hostage unless I pay for storage.Love your solution, it made me laugh. Has Cary found out yet?
Kathy, you lead quite the eventful life. I'm glad you got Google sorted out, and good luck with the kitty. You won't get hate mail from me--I love cats, but you have to do what's best for them and for people. Sometimes that means doing something you don't really want to do. (And I won't tell Cary about the cell phone thing...)
I love cats, but I understand your decision about Miss Peggy. I'm just sorry you have to deal with it.
