Just a Note: "Varied Florals"

  Artist:   Nita Leger Casey

This is installment five of Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy's weekly art feature.  My MIL gave me a bunch of greeting cards, and I decided to scan them, add a frame then and link them up to the artists websites when possible.  Hope that they bring you a bit of joy today!

Wonderfully colourful. A visual tonic in these snowy times.

Beautiful note cards. I've often looked at the back of those I've received, but I never thought of investigating further. Very interesting.

Gorgeous cards, Kathy. Love the "Thinking of You" with the garden scene. It reminds me of my grandmother. :)

First of all, Kathy, thank you for your happiness because I won Abby's postcards. That made my day shine!

I enjoyed the story of the dog and hummingbird. And the paintings are beautiful. Simplify Life/Magnify Living is going straight into my Less/More journal.

Beauty to my day! Thank you very much. I can look at these cards all day. They're my kind of art.

Hi Kathy, I'm here for Sepia, but can't find you on the linky from Sepia headquarters so I clicked your name from your link on my post. Really enjoyed the photos you shared, including your new doggie. She's absolutely adorable.

The 2012 Army All-American Day Event

Photo Source: Nike "The Opening Brochure" Pages 2 and 3
During the week of July 5-9, 2011, Cary and I were privileged to attend "The Opening", watching quarterback grandson Tyler Matthews (#43 the first day, and #15 on game days) play with 150 of the best high school football players in the United States. The event was held at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. I hope that you enjoy the pictures ... some are better photos than others, but I tried to capture as many kids as I could.

There are approximately 500 photos in these slide shows. They are of the players, the fans, our family and everybody/everything that caught my eye. They are in chronological order. No names are on the pictures, even if I do know who people were.

As time permits, I will also be writing blog posts about my experience as a spectator. Since I still have a lot to learn about football and this is not a sports blog, I'll write some human interest stories as seen through my eyes. That said, Tyler Matthews, YOU ROCK!!!!
