Photography: Bend Pumpkins

Two of  my blends (blog friends) Becky and Lisa have been busy updating the look of their blogs.  Lisa went with purple and falling leaves, and her blog looks so pretty!  Becky has made her background into an autumn theme and it is warm and welcoming.  They inspired me to re-work mine a bit.  I hope that you enjoy the changes.

Becky's blog reminded me of these cute photos I took last fall in Bend.  The little girl is choosing which pumpkin she wants to paint.  Some of the finished painted pumpkins are below.  Have you ever painted a pumpkin?  It looks a bit easier than carving them, I think.

Hi Kathy - Thanks for the mention. :)
Your blog always looks terrific.

We always carve our pumpkins, though painting them does look a bit easier. Not a bad idea, actually...they probably last longer, too!

Hi Lisa, you are welcome ... your blog looks so pretty! I have about given up on the pumpkin deal. We don't even get trick or treaters, they all go to downtown Mayberry to the stores and merchants.

I'm a hard core pumpkin slasher. Painting pumpkins is for slackers. I think digging out slippery pumpkin guts with a spoon is part of the whole Halloween experience. I am wrong?

Wrong? Nope! I kind of like the feeling of the slimy pumpkin innards myself!

I am getting lazy and only decorate for Christmas these days though.

Love the photos of the pumpkins in Bend Kathy! I forgot to tell you my favorite antique store is right on the corner in downtown Bend. I can't remember the name of's on a corner. Your blog background looks pretty.
