Last Friday, Cary, Mom and I went to Astoria to attend Nigel's graduation from the Job Corps. Before we left, I went online and checked out lodging options. There are many regular chain hotels on Astoria's waterfront, but the Hotel Elliott looked really neat from it's website. It was in person too, so I thought that I would share these pictures with you.

Located right downtown, major renovations have been made to the hotel over the past several years, and they are currently working on expanding the lobby and creating a cafeteria. The inside is new as it holds on to its character. I drew an arrow showing were our two room suite was. We had the three windows from the end in the picture below:

We thought is was a super nice room! Mom slept on the hide-a-bed couch, and Nigel stayed at his place. Our bed was very comfortable, and the curtains hid the street lights just fine. The room was totally handicapped accessible.

If you take the elevator to the 5th floor and climb up a short flight of stairs, you arrive at a very pretty rooftop where you can visit and enjoy the view of the city.

That little building at the end is actually a bedroom belonging to the six-room Presidential Suite. (You climb upstairs to get to that particular room.)

This is where they have the breakfast buffet. I do think that there could have been more food choices, but perhaps that will change when the cafeteria is completed upstairs. Isn't everything so pretty though? I loved the colors and design of the downstairs.

The staff was friendly and just great! We especially had a fun time visiting with Ingrid and Gay, and look forward to going back again when we have more time to spend. I wish that we had more time to walk around the downtown when we were there.

Astoria is so charming! I'm from Seattle, and have been there a few times.
This place looked lovely, Kathy. Especially that Rooftop 'hangout!' That's kind of expensive for the room... I wouldn't think that it would have been so high, but it does look like a nice, old, glorious hotel.
