Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy ~ Kathy Matthews |
This one is for Wendy, my Sepia Saturday friend from over at Jollett , and my most faithful commenter during this year's A - Z Challenge. I presume that she likes her hair well-conditioned, but I just threw in the Wranglers because they started with the letter W. Hugs, Wendy!
Feeling wacky and willful, William Wilson of Woodburn warmheartedly waved to the waif sitting on a wall. She winked at him warily, then walked away to wash her hair. She preferred it well-conditioned. William shouted, "Stop being waspish, Wendy, I'm waiting for you. I am well-known, and not meeting me would be a waste! Hop in, and come to the waterfalls with me. I am not a warlock you know."
The well-developed Wendy willingly drove toward Wildwood Falls with William, wearing her Wranglers. William was driving wildly behind the wheel of his Buick Wildcat. The engine of the Wildcat packed a wallop as William whizzed down the highway. They were both wisely wearing their seatbelts.
As they passed the cop at a whopping 90 mph (nothing at all in a Wildcat), William wondered if he would get a warning or perhaps become a ward of the court. Recently back from war, William had forgotten that he had a warrant out for his arrest. When the cop pulled him over and showed him the warrant, William turned white, whirled around and told the waif, "Sorry, Wendy, Wildwood Falls will have to wait awhile longer."
The End.
The waterfalls above are at Paulina Creek in Newberry National Monument, and are not really Wildwood Falls, though both are located in Oregon.

I just want to thank you for making Wendy well-developed!
I love waterfalls! It is one of the things I miss about Oregon--I mean I'm not THAT far from Niagara Falls, but as with everything out here, it seems like nature has to be seen from a man-made locale--I miss hiking it to something gorgeous. Love the pic, and VERY cute story!
Wendy, no problem!
Hart, me too. Wow, that is weird, I have never considered that...you are right, there is still a lot of room to roam around here.
