Product Review: Bi-Mart Stuff That Works ....

Well, thanks again you all!  This morning when I checked my hit counter, it was at 20,007.   007 ... a spy number.   Hmmmm.

I like it when I find personal care and beauty products that work.  I keep buying them.  Go figure.  Here are some products that I really like and, no, I am not getting paid for this.  (I wish!)

I recently saw an ad for Garnier Fructus on t.v., and since I am trying to grow out my hair and the ends are dry, I thought, well what the heck, I'll try that stuff.   So the next time my mother-in-law Darlene and I went to lunch and to Bi-Mart, I bought both of the items above.  The shampoo was only $2.99 and the conditioner is more, but I think it was less than $7.00.  


They are both very good.  You can tell a difference even in the shampoo.  In my experience, conditioners are usually fake-outs, with all of their promises (except for the tube that comes in the hair dye kit ... that stuff is nice).  Fructus conditioner really works.  After using it, my hair is shiny and thick, and the ends are tamed for the day.

I use the stuff above on my face.  (I realize the bottles say that these lotions are for your body, but I use Jergen's for my body.  If I use the Jergen's on my face, I get zits.  Sorry, I don't have a photo of the Jergen's lotion.  I guess that I should have.  I use Jergen's lotion for  tanning too. and my skin turns a very nice brown ... after the red goes away.)  

Anyway, back to my main story.  I even bought a bunch of Mary Kay a couple of months ago to compare to the Nivea that I get at Bi-Mart, and, sure enough, I prefer the Nivea.  Plus, it is there at Bi-Mart when I need it.  I do not have to plan ahead.  And, it lasts forever.

The stuff in the white bottle is lighter, and I use it as an undercoat.  It is for firming my skin, as well as for moisturizing.   Then I apply a dime-sized bit of the stuff in the blue bottle and let it sink in, to essentially enrich my skin.

After the top coat from the blue bottle has lost its sheen, I apply my very favorite foundation of all time:  Almay Smart Make-up.  It costs around $10 or $11 dollars.  It has sunscreen in it.  It is self-adjusting.  Like the auto-focus on my camera.  It goes on with no color and then turns to the right color of light beige.  I love it!

 

And then back to the coolest stuff of all kind.  Lemon juice.  It costs less than $2.00 for a 32 ounce bottle, and it will last for a long, long time.  I apply it as face astringent prior to the lotions.  I also put it on my age spots (I think it is making a difference).  I put it to my hair every once in awhile to cut through the hard water deposits and to make my hair shiny.  Lemon juice will also lighten your hair in the sun, but the ends will dry out after a while.  Plus, I color my hair, so I did need to cut back on the lemon juice a bit.  But it works for what it is good for.  Seriously. 

The other good thing about lemon juice?  If you get a strong smell on your hands after chopping onions or garlic, just wash your hands in lemon juice and they smell fresh again.  I love this stuff.

So, there you go.  Give the shampoo and conditioner a try for sure.  And, if your skin is dry to normal and not too sensitive, maybe the other products will work for you too.   It won't cost much to try!
