Shadow Shot Sunday #170: Kylie in the Loader

Part of our family business includes a sand and gravel pit.

 Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy ~ Kathy Matthews

In the sand and gravel pit, there are pieces of heavy equipment, and a wash plant.

The wash plant takes the raw material, called pit run, and sorts it into different sizes of sand and gravel with the help of a lot of water.

Part of our family includes a beautiful and smart granddaughter, who came to work with us for the summer.  Her name is Kylie.

This was Kylie's second day of running the loader.  She has a knack for it.

Herb is a great teacher.  He is the one in the yellow loader.

These photos were taken my sweetie, Cary.  Great job!  They hold some subtle shadows,  so I am using them as this week's Shadow Shot Sunday post.

Now that is impressive. Having that skill on her resume will make future employers sit up and take notice. That will make her stand out in the crowd of people after the same job.Of course being cute and talented will also go a long way but frontend loader proficient??--awesome.

What a big machine--I'm impressed that she is not intimidated by it. Looks like hard and "dusty" work. She will have a "diverse" resume. Have a great weekend. Mickie ;)

Tell Kylie I am totally impressed by how quickly she learned to handle the loader as an expert!

IF I HAD A SHADOW

If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:

My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;

My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east

Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;

My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.

I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

You have an awesome grand-daughter there, not intimidated by any 'ol piece of heavy equipment. It is nice too that she is helping in the family business. I am sure you are very proud of her.
Nice pictures too!

How nice to get everyone involved in the family business. Maybe this pretty young lady will go on to be a civil engineer or something like that!

Droplets, whether coffee or rain, are fascinating. Your photography is always so excellent.
